Our Founding Story

The Ibrahim Impact Foundation was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the stories of a family that has spent decades watching Nigeria's potential, and its people, be held back by preventable barriers: a school with no books, a child born without prenatal care, a young woman with talent but no access to capital.
Our founder, Abraham Ibrahim Jr., grew up watching his father, the late Engr. Ibrahim Abubakar, move through life with a simple philosophy: that every person deserves a fair shot, and that those who have the means to create that shot have a responsibility to do so.
That philosophy became a foundation. Registered in both Nigeria and the United States in 2024, Ibrahim Impact Foundation is built in his father's honour, a formal expression of a conviction the Ibrahim family has lived for decades.

Engr. Ibrahim Abubakar
Engineer · Community Leader · Patriarch · Gone but never forgotten
Engr. Ibrahim Abubakar spent his life building things that last: infrastructure, institutions, and people. As an experienced engineer with decades of professional achievement, he lived proof that technical excellence and community service are not opposites; they are partners.
He raised his family on a simple belief: that privilege is a responsibility, not a reward. That belief is the seed from which this foundation grew. Though he is no longer with us, his values, his example, and his love for people shape every decision we make.
This foundation is built in his honour.

Abraham Ibrahim Jr. is an entrepreneur with multiple successful exits and a track record of building technology companies at the intersection of social impact and commercial innovation, spanning Healthcare, AgTech, and FinTech.
He founded Ibrahim Impact Foundation to honour his father's legacy and to answer the question that has driven his career: how do you use technology and capital to solve problems that actually matter?
As Chairman, Abraham steers the foundation's strategy, culture, and long-term trajectory toward 50,000 lives impacted.
